ABOUTI spent a decade as a raft guide on the Cheat, Youghiogheny, and Gauley rivers. In the off season I traveled to explore Appalachia and the natural and cultural resources of the United States. I reaffirmed my commitment to sustainable travel and tourism by completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental geo-Science and a Masters of Science degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resources at West Virginia University. During and after grad school I had the opportunity to study best practice examples of sustainability around the world. I now dedicate myself to my family and supporting, developing, promoting, and demonstrating sustainable travel and tourism in West Virginia, Appalachia, and throughout the United States
